Alipay Enhances Bank Card Management and Introduces New Family Card Features
Alipay is upgrading its bank card management features, allowing users to easily re-link or unbind expired cards. New functionalities are also being introduced for its "Family Card" service.
Chinese payment platform Alipay has announced significant user experience upgrades focusing on bank card management and its "Family Card" service.
The platform has enhanced its bank card management system, enabling users to re-link or unbind expired bank cards with a single action. Within the Alipay app, users can navigate to the "My" section, then "Bank Cards," to view the status of their linked cards. Expired cards can now be quickly replaced by binding a new one, while canceled cards can be directly removed from the account.
In parallel, Alipay is introducing new features for its "Family Card" service. These cards can now be issued for a single use with a validity period of up to 30 days. When gifting a Family Card, users can set spending limits with options for monthly, weekly, daily, or a 30-day validity. This allows for temporary, capped financial assistance without requiring long-term linking.
Furthermore, Alipay has commenced internal testing for a new feature that allows recipients of Family Cards to withdraw unused credit to their Alipay balance. Users can initiate a withdrawal request, which, upon approval by the card issuer, will transfer the remaining credit to the recipient's Alipay balance.
These updates aim to provide users with greater control over their financial information and add flexibility to how families manage shared expenses and allowances through the platform.
