Aliplast (Hera Group) Acquires Majority Stake in Kronos Polymer Polska to Boost Plastics Recycling
Aliplast, part of Hera Group, is expanding its plastics recycling capacity by acquiring a 70% stake in Kronos Polymer Polska, a new entity focused on polyethylene reprocessing.

BOLOGNA, Italy – Aliplast, a subsidiary of Hera Group, has agreed to acquire a 70% stake in the newly formed Kronos Polymer Polska. This acquisition, made through Aliplast Polska, is intended to strengthen the company's position in high-quality plastics recycling, particularly for polyethylene (PE).
Kronos Polymer Polska will be spun off from Kronos Polymer and will operate from a new industrial site in Gniew, Poland. The facility is equipped with a sorting, grinding, and washing line for PE, boasting an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons. This move is expected to enhance Aliplast's presence in the Polish market and optimize logistics.
The transaction, combined with ongoing projects in Italy, is projected to double Aliplast's total recycling capacity to over 210,000 tons per year. Aliplast operates an integrated industrial model with facilities across Italy, France, Spain, and Poland, managing the process from waste collection to the production of secondary raw materials.
The company aims to meet European market demands, influenced by regulations such as the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), which promotes circular economy principles. This expansion aligns with the increasing need for sustainable packaging solutions and resource regeneration.
The acquisition is subject to standard closing conditions, including the completion of the demerger and transfer of environmental permits, with finalization expected by the end of 2026.
