Aliplast (Hera Group) Acquires Majority Stake in Polish Plastics Recycler

Bologna, Italy โ€“ July 15, 2026 โ€“ Aliplast Polska, a subsidiary of Hera Group's Aliplast, has signed a binding agreement to acquire 70% of Kronos Polymer Polska. The new company is being formed from the spin-off of operations by Kronos Polymer, a Polish firm involved in polyethylene (PE) recycling and processing.

The acquisition enhances Aliplast's leadership in high-quality plastics recycling across Europe. Kronos Polymer Polska will operate a new facility located in Gniew, Poland, equipped with a complete polyethylene sorting, grinding, and washing line. This plant has an installed production capacity of 12,000 tons per year.

This strategic move will allow Aliplast to optimize its operations and logistics within Poland, expanding its recycling and regeneration activities directly on-site. The company projects that this acquisition, combined with ongoing projects in Italy, will increase its total annual recycling capacity to over 210,000 tons.

Aliplast aims to meet the growing European demand for recycled plastics and support the circular economy, particularly in light of new EU regulations like the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), which aims to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable packaging.
