Allen Gransch Appointed Chief Operating Officer of GFL Environmental
GFL Environmental Inc. has appointed Allen Gransch as its Chief Operating Officer, effective October 1, 2026. Gransch joined the company in September following the acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure Corp.

GFL Environmental Inc. announced the appointment of Allen Gransch as Chief Operating Officer, effective October 1, 2026. Gransch joined GFL as Executive Vice President on September 1, 2026, as part of the acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure Corp.
Gransch brings nearly two decades of experience from SECURE, where he held key leadership roles including CFO, COO, and President and CEO. During his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing strategic direction, driving operational execution, and building teams. GFL Founder and CEO Patrick Dovigi stated that Gransch's track record in operational excellence aligns with the company's long-term growth strategy.
Dovigi highlighted Gransch's proven leadership capabilities and extensive experience overseeing a large-scale waste management platform as key factors for advancing GFL's operational and growth objectives. The appointment follows Gransch's recent move to GFL through the SECURE acquisition.
Concurrently, Billy Soffera will transition from COO to a senior strategic advisor role, continuing to lead key value-creation initiatives. GFL is North America's fourth-largest diversified environmental services company, operating across Canada and 19 U.S. states, with a workforce exceeding 17,000 employees.
