Alley Cat Allies has increased its reward to $20,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual responsible for shooting a cat with a blowgun dart. The incident, which took place in Conover, North Carolina, resulted in the death of the cat, known as Trooper, despite emergency veterinary treatment.
The investigation is currently being conducted by the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. Alley Cat Allies stated that the reward increase is intended to generate new leads and emphasize the severity of animal cruelty offenses. "Trooper deserves that justice," said Coryn Julien, a program communications officer for the organization, noting that the group advocates for the full application of anti-cruelty laws.
