Allianz Trade: Cyber incidents and business disruptions lead 2025 corporate risk landscape

Allianz Trade’s 14th annual risk barometer, which surveyed 3,778 experts across 106 countries, lists cyber incidents as the top concern for businesses for the fourth consecutive year. According to the findings, 38% of respondents identified cyber threats as a primary risk to their operations.

Business interruptions ranked second at 31%, followed closely by natural disasters at 29%. Notably, risks associated with artificial intelligence and emerging technologies entered the top ten list for the first time. Analysts highlight that these threats are increasingly interconnected, meaning that a single failure or disruption can trigger significant cascading effects across global supply chains.

The report cites recent extreme weather events, geopolitical tensions, and large-scale IT outages as evidence that businesses must shift toward more holistic risk management strategies. Moving forward, resilience planning remains the central priority for firms operating in an environment marked by volatility and economic uncertainty.
