Alpha School to Premiere Documentary on AI's Impact on Teaching

On July 9, Alpha School will debut "Teachers 2.0," a new mini-documentary examining the influence of artificial intelligence on the teaching profession. The film aims to address concerns about AI's role in classrooms by highlighting how educators are leveraging technology to enhance their capabilities.

The documentary will premiere during a free virtual watch party, followed by a live panel discussion. Featured participants include MacKenzie Price, co-founder of Alpha School, and Wendy Kopp, founder of Teach For America. They will be joined by educators like Samantha DePalo, a Fulbright Scholar, and Matthew Shenker, a therapist and behavioral scientist.

"Teachers 2.0" focuses on teachers using AI to automate administrative tasks, allowing them more time for student mentoring, critical thinking development, and building stronger interpersonal relationships. The film advocates that AI complements, rather than replaces, teachers by enabling them to concentrate on uniquely human aspects of education.

Alpha School, founded in 2014, operates a network of K-8 schools that utilize AI for personalized learning. The organization combines academic instruction with life skills workshops to prepare students for future success. Following the premiere, "Teachers 2.0" will be accessible on Alpha School's YouTube channel.
