AlphaESS Maintains Tier 1 Status in BloombergNEF Energy Storage Ranking
For the fifth consecutive quarter, AlphaESS has been designated a Tier 1 energy storage manufacturer by BloombergNEF, meeting updated global bankability criteria.

Nantong-based manufacturer AlphaESS has retained its Tier 1 status in the Q4 2026 BloombergNEF (BNEF) rankings. This designation evaluates energy storage equipment providers based on their track record of project experience and ability to secure non-recourse financing from commercial banks.
BNEF’s latest update introduced more stringent requirements for inclusion, mandating that providers demonstrate specific project success backed by third-party financial institutions. This ranking is frequently used by developers and project investors to vet supply chain partners for utility-scale energy storage projects.
AlphaESS is currently deploying 200 MWh of storage capacity across Europe, including projects in Germany, Lithuania, and Austria. The installations utilize the company’s Aster 5000 technology, a 20-foot containerized, liquid-cooled battery system intended for grid balancing and renewable energy integration.
Founded in 2012, AlphaESS operates across 130 countries, providing storage solutions ranging from residential units to large-scale grid infrastructure.
