Palo Alto-based electric mobility company ALSO has been recognized for its TM-B electric bike, which was named to TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of 2026 list. The bike utilizes the company's DreamRide technology.
Electric mobility company ALSO, a spinout from Rivian, has received recognition for its TM-B (Transcendent Mobility) e-bike, named to TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of 2026 list. The annual list highlights 300 extraordinary innovations changing lives.
TIME solicited nominations from editors and correspondents worldwide, evaluating contenders on originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. The selection process focused on growing fields such as healthcare, transportation, and AI.
"Through deep hardware and software technology, combined with thoughtful design, the TM-B makes choosing a smaller vehicle feel like a first choice, not a compromise," said Chris Yu, Co-Founder and President of ALSO. "We're proud to see TIME recognize the category of innovation that TM-B represents."
The TM-B e-bike is built around ALSO's DreamRide pedal-by-wire propulsion system, where software defines the ride experience rather than a fixed set of gears. The bike features a modular design allowing for tool-free conversion between solo, cargo, and bench seat configurations. It includes a five-inch touchscreen for navigation and ride modes. The TM-B is currently shipping to customers in the United States.
