Mobility solutions provider Alstom has partnered with the Brazilian civil society organization Mothers for Diversity to launch an initiative aimed at preventing school dropout. The "Trust in Diversity" project focuses on supporting at-risk students in the Paraíba Valley, São Paulo, Brazil, by promoting inclusive educational environments.

The project addresses school dropout caused by discrimination and exclusion related to sexual orientation, race, disability, gender, and neurodiversity. Alstom is sponsoring the development of a digital guide offering practical guidance for educators and families. The initiative also includes in-person activities at schools in the region.

The guide provides actionable recommendations for dealing with declining student engagement due to discrimination and exclusion, covering topics such as LGBTphobia, racism, ableism, misogyny, and neurodiversity. It combines technical knowledge with real-life perspectives, drawing on over a decade of experience and expertise from professionals in mental health, law, education, and social work.

Alstom stated the project aligns with its values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The partnership with Mothers for Diversity originated through an Alstom employee affinity group focused on the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The NGO supports approximately 90 families in the area, and the project's materials have been shared with around 150 schools.
