Alstom begins production of rolling stock for Toulouse Metro Line C

French industrial conglomerate Alstom has commenced the production of rolling stock for Toulouse's new Metro Line C. The manufacturing process began at Alstom's Tarbes site, which is responsible for producing the traction units for the metro trains.

The first completed train is scheduled for delivery to the Valenciennes railway testing center in September 2025. These new trains are intended to enhance the capacity and passenger experience on Toulouse's metropolitan transit system. Alstom will also supply the Urbalis 400 system for driverless operation and HESOP reversible substation solutions for the line.

In December 2020, Toulouse Métropole awarded Alstom a contract valued at over €470 million for the line's systems. Metro Line C will cover a distance of 27 kilometers and include 21 stations. It will feature connections with other Tisséo network lines and the national rail network, serving three of the agglomeration's major employment hubs.

The project also encompasses the installation of platform facades and track systems. Alstom will further provide maintenance services for the trains over an initial six-year period, with an option for an additional twelve years.
