Alstom delivers final light rail vehicle to Toronto Transit Commission
Alstom has completed the delivery of 60 Alstom Flexity light rail vehicles (LRVs) to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The vehicles were manufactured in Canada.
Rail manufacturer Alstom has finalized its contract for 60 new light rail vehicles (LRVs) with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) in Ontario, Canada. The delivery of the final vehicle marks the completion of an order that adds 60 Alstom Flexity LRVs to the TTC's fleet.
The manufacturing process supported Canadian jobs, with the vehicles assembled and tested at Alstom's facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Support for the project, including component sub-assembly, came from Alstom's site in La Pocatière, Quebec. Dozens of Canadian suppliers were also involved in the delivery of these vehicles.
All 60 new, fully low-floor, zero-emission LRVs have now been delivered to Toronto. They were progressively put into service between November 2023 and the end of 2025. The new vehicles are intended to help the TTC accommodate Toronto's growing ridership and serve its 11 light-rail lines.
Globally, Alstom's Flexity LRVs have seen orders exceeding 5,000 units. The model is recognized for its smooth ride, spacious interiors, and accessibility features.
