Alstom Joins East European TGV Enterprise Club
Rolling stock manufacturer Alstom has become a founding member of the East European TGV Enterprise Club, aimed at promoting high-speed rail in the region. The club will determine joint actions to promote the TGV line ahead of its opening.

Alstom, a global leader in rolling stock manufacturing, has joined the newly formed East European TGV Enterprise Club as a founding member. The initiative, announced on April 19, 2006, seeks to foster the adoption and development of high-speed rail technology across Eastern Europe.
The club's membership includes other major companies such as Accor (hotels), Credit Mutuel (finance), Disneyland Resort Paris (tourism), EDF (energy), Pommery (beverages), and SFR (telecommunications), signaling a cross-sectorial commitment to regional development.
Alstom has a long history with TGV technology, having sold close to 550 trainsets worldwide since the first prototype. Notable implementations include services in Belgium, France, Germany, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
In the coming weeks, the Enterprise Club plans to outline specific strategies and actions to promote the forthcoming East European TGV line. The line is slated to open for service approximately 14 months from the announcement date.
