Alstom partners with US academic institutions to strengthen rail future
Alstom announced new partnerships with U.S. colleges and universities to develop talent in the rail and transit sector. The initiative follows significant new orders for the company in the United States.

Alstom is establishing new partnerships with U.S. colleges and universities to develop the next generation of professionals for the rail and transit industry. The move comes as the company has secured significant new orders in the U.S. over the past two years and is expanding its workforce.
The collaborations aim to address the growing need for skilled labor in manufacturing, operations, engineering, and management roles. Alstom has manufacturing facilities in New York and Pennsylvania and offices in New York City and Philadelphia.
Key initiatives include an engineering scholarship fund at Alfred State College in Western New York, and collaborations with transportation centers at New York University (NYU) and the University of Pennsylvania. These efforts underscore Alstom's commitment to the U.S. market and local workforce development.
"Modernizing and expanding transit and rail has many benefits, including creating good American jobs," said Dani Simons, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs, Americas. "We want more students to understand that this is a growing field and there are real opportunities to build a career."
The partnerships with NYU's Rudin Center and the University of Pennsylvania's Transportation Initiative are expected to bring industry experience to research and teaching. Alstom's involvement with Alfred State College supports technical education and workforce development, aligning with the company's nearby manufacturing facility in Hornell, New York.
