The train is engineered for reliable operation in the demanding Nordic climate, capable of withstanding temperatures from -40 to +35 degrees Celsius and navigating through 80 cm of snow. It features energy-efficient systems, including regenerative braking and an aerodynamic profile. The train offers 270 seats and includes versatile areas for bicycles, strollers, and wheelchairs.
Maria Signal Martebo, Managing Director of Alstom Sweden, stated that the Avelia Stream Nordic X80 is "a future-proof solution for reliable and modern public transport in the Nordic countries." The design emphasizes safety, accessibility, and environmental compatibility.
The passenger areas are designed to offer a mix of quiet zones and communal spaces for both work and relaxation. The train features extra-wide doors for easy access for all passengers, including those with reduced mobility and families with strollers. Its lightweight construction and efficient drive system contribute to reduced energy consumption.
