Alstom Secures New Rail Contracts Across Europe and North America
Train manufacturer Alstom has announced several new contracts covering train deliveries, modernization, and operations in various cities. New orders include projects in Belgrade, Mexico, and Australia.
Rail transport company Alstom has announced multiple significant contracts, reinforcing its global market presence. Recent projects include the delivery of Belgrade's first metro line, a contract for 47 trains and associated maintenance for new rail corridors in Mexico, and a substantial share in a suburban rail project in Melbourne, Australia.
Alstom is also set to modernize Lausanne's m2 metro line with a new train control system and fleet mid-life upgrades. The company is extending its operations and maintenance contracts at North American airports, including Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
In Europe, Alstom will supply 153 trains to Comboios de Portugal, the Portuguese national railway company, while also establishing a new manufacturing facility in the country. Further European projects include an order for 15 additional Avelia Horizon high-speed trains for SNCF Voyageurs.
In the UK, Alstom has secured long-term train services and refurbishment contracts with ScotRail and Beacon, valued at approximately €380 million. The company will also continue to operate and maintain the GO Transit and UP Express fleets in Toronto, Canada.
