Alstom signs four-year agreement for railway point machine maintenance in Poland
Alstom will maintain nearly 3,500 electric point machines across Poland under a four-year contract with PKP PLK. The agreement aims to ensure service stability and safety.

Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has signed a four-year agreement with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (PLK), Poland's national railway infrastructure manager. The contract, effective from 2026 to 2029, covers the maintenance and repair of electric point machines, specifically the OnviaSwitch type, used across the Polish railway network.
The core scope of the agreement includes performing nearly 3,500 maintenance and repair interventions, with an option for an additional 800. These services encompass full periodic maintenance activities and repairs, adhering to PLK's requirements and Alstom's standards for point machine maintenance. Alstom has extensive experience in the Polish market, having implemented various signaling and control systems for railways and modernized numerous stations.
"This contract represents a significant step towards enhancing railway infrastructure maintenance in Poland," stated Adam Juretko, Head of Alstom Poland's Katowice Branch. "For the first time, we can plan and execute maintenance operations on a nationwide scale, ensuring consistency and continuity of services for many years to come." He added that this approach supports the safety and development of the entire rail network.
