Alstom to supply 26 additional Coradia Max trains to German state

Alstom has secured an order for 26 additional Coradia Max double-decker trains from the Landesanstalt Schienenfahrzeuge Baden-Württemberg (SFBW). The contract, valued at approximately 500 million euros, includes a maintenance agreement extending through the end of 2055.

This order utilizes an option from a 2022 agreement that originally covered 130 trainsets for the German state. The expansion is intended to accommodate rising passenger numbers and prepare for increased rail traffic capacity following the completion of the Stuttgart 21 rail hub project.

The new rolling stock is scheduled for delivery beginning in 2028. The trains will be operated by DB Regio Baden-Württemberg and Arverio, serving various routes across the region as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to modernize its regional rail infrastructure.
