Alstom trains and signalling system enter service on Delhi Metro Lines 7 and 8
Alstom's Metropolis trainsets and signalling systems are now operational on Delhi Metro Lines 7 and 8 extensions. The new services aim to enhance connectivity for commuters in the National Capital Territory.

French mobility solutions provider Alstom has supplied trains and signalling systems for the extensions of Delhi Metro Lines 7 and 8, which commenced revenue service on March 9, 2026.
The extension of Line 7, also known as the Pink Line, from Majlis Park to Maujpur makes it India's first circular metro. It also becomes the country's longest metro line equipped for unattended train operation at Grade of Automation (GoA) 4.
The extension of Line 8 (Magenta Line) from Majlis Park to Deepali Chowk will provide interchangeability with the Yellow Line at Badli, Red Line at Madhuban Chowk, and the Pink Line at Majlis Park. The Metropolis trainsets were manufactured at Alstom's facility in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh.
Alstom is supplying a total of 312 train cars for Delhi Metro's Phase IV project, valued at €312 million. The company has previously delivered over 800 metro cars for the Delhi Metro network. Alstom's Urbalis Flo signalling system, designed for future driverless operation, has been deployed on the Line 7 extension.
