ALTA Performance Materials has reached an agreement to purchase the Palatal resins business from BASF, a move intended to expand its regional manufacturing footprint.
ALTA Performance Materials has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Palatal business unit from German chemical conglomerate BASF. The transaction is designed to increase ALTA’s manufacturing capacity within South America.
For BASF, the divestiture aligns with its ongoing strategic efforts to streamline its portfolio and refocus resources on its core chemical operations. The Palatal unit specializes in unsaturated polyester resins used in various industrial applications.
Operations under the Palatal brand will continue through the transition period. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and the closing remains subject to standard regulatory approvals.
