Alterion Launches Draco, a Runtime Control Plane for Enterprise AI Agents
Alterion has introduced Draco, a runtime control platform providing enterprises with real-time visibility and governance over AI agents, reportedly without code changes.

San Francisco, Calif. – Alterion, a company focused on governing AI agents in production, has launched Draco, a new runtime control platform. The platform aims to provide enterprises with real-time visibility and enforced governance over AI agents operating across various environments, including clouds, vendors, and endpoints.
As businesses increasingly deploy AI agents into production workflows, a gap has emerged in unified oversight and control of these agents during operation. Traditional tools often lack the ability to display agent intent or behavior in real-time, creating governance challenges, particularly in regulated industries. Draco is positioned to address this by acting as a dedicated runtime control layer between AI agents and enterprise infrastructure.
The platform reportedly models agent behavior and intent in real-time, applying programmable guardrails to prevent high-risk actions such as data deletion or production changes. Alterion states that Draco achieves this without requiring modifications to the agent code itself. It is designed to offer security, risk, and compliance teams a single point of control for setting boundaries and monitoring agent deviations.
Draco is designed to provide multi-layer detection covering runtime behavior, network traffic, and endpoint activity across on-premises, public cloud, and SaaS environments. The company claims the control plane requires no SDK changes and supports enterprises needing controlled deployments and comprehensive audit trails mapped against frameworks like SOC 2 and the EU AI Act. Alterion suggests Draco can reduce operational costs by preventing incidents and improve customer experience by ensuring safer agent behavior.
Draco is available starting July 16, 2026, targeting enterprise organizations with large, complex agent ecosystems, especially those in highly regulated sectors requiring real-time control and auditability.
