Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a global professional services firm, has announced substantial growth in its China operations over the past five years. The firm reports it has tripled its headcount and quadrupled revenues in the region, positioning itself as a key advisor for both domestic Chinese companies and multinational corporations navigating complex business environments.
As part of its expansion strategy, A&M has onboarded 218 senior professionals in the last two years, individuals possessing an average of 15 years of experience. In 2025 alone, the firm added 41 senior hires, including 16 Managing Directors, bolstering its expertise across sectors such as healthcare, automotive, industrials, retail, and financial services.
"China has always been a market of strategic importance to A&M," stated Bryan Marsal, Co-Founder and CEO. "Over the past decade, we’ve seen it evolve from a high-growth economy to one that demands more sophisticated, results-driven solutions. Our expansion reflects a long-term commitment—not just to growth, but to building a platform that helps Chinese businesses navigate transformation, complexity, and opportunity."
A&M's growth in China is supported by its four core business units: Performance Improvement, Restructuring & Turnaround, Disputes & Investigations, and Private Equity Services. The firm also plans to introduce services like Financial Services and CFO Advisory to the Asian market, responding to increased demand for operational efficiency, regulatory navigation, and cross-border advisory.
