Alvarez & Marsal Hires David Hicks to Co-Lead Global Disputes and Investigations
Alvarez & Marsal has appointed industry veteran David Hicks as Global Co-Leader of its Disputes and Investigations practice and Financial Crime Practice Leader. Hicks joins from KPMG.
New York – Alvarez & Marsal announced on September 16, 2025, the appointment of David Hicks to lead its global Disputes and Investigations (DI) practice alongside Jerry Dent. Hicks will also serve as the practice leader for Financial Crime.
Hicks brings over 30 years of experience in advising firms on financial crime and contentious regulatory matters, including fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering, and sanctions investigations. He previously held senior roles at KPMG, including Partner, Global Financial Crime Transformation Lead, and Global Forensic Leader.
Initially based in Dubai until February 2026, Hicks will then relocate to London. His recruitment is part of Alvarez & Marsal's strategic focus on expanding its anti-financial crime services, driven by increasing client demand.
The firm has recently added several specialists to its DI practice, including experts in competition economics, construction disputes, financial crime, and broker-dealer regulations, indicating a broader expansion of its capabilities in complex advisory services.
