Alvarez & Marsal Hires Heinrich Kerstien for DACH Debt Advisory
Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Dr. Heinrich Kerstien as a Managing Director to lead its Debt Advisory practice across the DACH region.
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the appointment of Dr. Heinrich Kerstien as a Managing Director, effective immediately. Based in Frankfurt, Kerstien will lead A&M's Debt Advisory practice across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH).
The move signals A&M's response to increased demand from financial sponsors and corporations in the DACH region for expert guidance in navigating debt markets and securing financing. Dr. Kerstien brings over 30 years of experience in debt advisory, having previously held senior roles at Clearwater and Rothschild & Co, where he co-headed the debt advisory practice in Europe. He also spent 10 years with Deutsche Bank.
Throughout his career, Kerstien has advised on debt transactions exceeding €40 billion for corporate clients and private equity firms. This appointment is part of A&M's ongoing expansion of its Debt Advisory team across EMEA, following recent senior hires in other European locations.
Tim Metzgen, EMEA Head of A&M Debt Advisory, stated that Kerstien's extensive track record in developing debt advisory functions and his strong relationships with financial sponsors and corporations will be crucial. Metzgen highlighted Kerstien's role in expanding A&M's regional network to better serve clients in increasingly complex debt markets.
