Alvotech and Advanz Pharma expand European biosimilar partnership
Alvotech and Advanz Pharma have extended their strategic partnership for the commercialization of five biosimilar candidates in Europe. The agreement includes proposed biosimilars for Simponi® (golimumab) and Entyvio® (vedolizumab).

Biotechnology company Alvotech and pharmaceutical firm Advanz Pharma have expanded their strategic partnership concerning the commercialization of five biosimilar candidates across Europe. Alvotech will handle development and manufacturing, while Advanz Pharma will be responsible for registration and marketing within the region.
The expanded agreement covers candidate biosimilars for Simponi® (golimumab) and Entyvio® (vedolizumab), along with three additional early-stage, undisclosed biosimilar candidates. The combined market for these five biosimilars is valued at over $4 billion in the covered territories.
This collaboration leverages Advanz Pharma's existing specialty and hospital network in Europe to ensure successful market entry and patient access. It deepens an initial partnership announced in February 2023 for AVT23, a proposed biosimilar to Xolair® (omalizumab).
Alvotech focuses on developing and manufacturing biosimilar medicines for various therapeutic areas, including autoimmune diseases, eye disorders, and cancer. The company maintains a broad network of commercial partners globally. Advanz Pharma specializes in specialty, hospital, and rare disease medicines in Europe.
