Biopharmaceutical company Alvotech and healthcare services provider DKSH have expanded their strategic partnership to commercialize six new biosimilar product candidates in Asian markets. The extended agreement covers multiple therapeutic areas and seeks to improve access to high-quality biologic medicines for patients in the region.
The initial partnership, announced in March 2020, focused on the distribution of the adalimumab biosimilar AVT02 in several Asian countries. This latest expansion includes six additional biosimilar candidates, with an estimated market potential of approximately $1.5 billion in annual sales in the Asia Pacific region.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the introduction of new, high-quality biosimilars to patients. Alvotech has previously secured similar strategic partnerships with global players, including Teva in the U.S., Stada in Europe, and Fuji Pharma in Japan.
DKSH, a Swiss-based Market Expansion Services provider, focuses on Asian markets. Its Healthcare business unit distributes pharmaceuticals, consumer health products, and medical devices, serving both the over-the-counter and prescription markets.
