Alvotech and LOTTE Biologics agree on US manufacturing capacity
Alvotech has partnered with LOTTE Biologics for biosimilar manufacturing in the United States. The agreement expands Alvotech's global production capacity and supports growing demand.
Biotechnology company Alvotech and contract manufacturer LOTTE Biologics have entered into a long-term strategic manufacturing agreement. Under the terms, LOTTE Biologics will produce drug substance for multiple antibody biosimilar products at its Syracuse, New York facility for global supply.
This additional capacity in the U.S. expands Alvotech's manufacturing footprint and strengthens its global supply network. The Syracuse facility offers 40,000 liters of bioreactor capacity for biologics manufacturing and has a proven track record in commercial production. The site recently completed an FDA inspection with zero observations.
Alvotech CEO Lisa Graver stated the agreement ensures sufficient capacity to meet demand for the company's pipeline products for the next decade. The collaboration is intended to support Alvotech's scaling portfolio and future launches.
LOTTE Biologics CEO James Park noted the partnership leverages Alvotech's biosimilar development expertise and LOTTE Biologics' manufacturing capabilities. The companies aim to provide flexible, reliable support for Alvotech's growing portfolio and contribute to the availability of high-quality, more affordable biologic medicines for patients worldwide.
