Alvotech and Prestige Biopharma Announce Manufacturing Partnership
Alvotech's contract manufacturing services will handle commercial production for Prestige Biopharma's biosimilar compound at its new Iceland facility.

Icelandic biotechnology firm Alvotech has entered into an agreement with Singapore-based Prestige Biopharma for the commercial production of a biosimilar.
Under the partnership, Alvotech's contract manufacturing services will be responsible for the commercial production of the biopharma company's compound at its new, state-of-the-art biosimilar facility in Reykjavik, Iceland. Technology transfer will commence immediately, followed by commercial manufacturing. Alvotech was selected from a wide range of well-recognized contract development and manufacturing organizations.
The agreement marks a significant step for Alvotech in expanding its contract manufacturing business. The company offers clients support and manufacturing services ranging from cell line development and process validation to aseptic filling and commercial supply.
Prestige Biopharma focuses on the development of biosimilars and novel antibody therapeutics. Its lead trastuzumab biosimilar (HD201) has been filed with the EMA and will soon be filed with the FDA. The company has several other biosimilar and antibody development projects underway.
