Alvotech Appoints Mark Levick as Chief Executive Officer
Alvotech has named Mark Levick, formerly of Sandoz biopharmaceuticals, as its new CEO effective August 5, 2019.

Alvotech has appointed Mark Levick as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing outgoing CEO Rasmus Rojkjaer. Levick is scheduled to assume the role on August 5, 2019.
Levick brings nearly two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. During his tenure as the head of development for Sandoz biopharmaceuticals, he oversaw the regulatory approval of five biosimilar products in major global markets. His career also includes significant tenures at Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline, as well as regulatory experience at both the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency and the European Medicines Agency.
Alvotech Chairman and founder Robert Wessman cited Levick's background in drug development and leadership as key factors for the appointment. The company aims to leverage his expertise to advance its current biosimilar pipeline.
Levick holds a medical degree from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. His appointment marks a shift in leadership as Alvotech continues to scale its operations within the biosimilar industry.
