Alvotech Names Balaji V. Prasad as Chief Strategy Officer

Alvotech, a biotechnology company focused on the development of biosimilar medicines, has appointed Dr. Balaji V. Prasad as Chief Strategy Officer. The appointment marks a strategic hire for the firm, which is currently scaling its international presence.

Dr. Prasad brings 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, previously serving as a director and equities analyst at Barclays, where he covered US specialty pharma. His career also includes roles at Goldman Sachs and various asset management firms. He holds an MD from Bangalore Medical College and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.

CEO Róbert Wessman noted that Prasad’s deep familiarity with Alvotech’s product pipeline and his extensive network within the global investment community will facilitate the company’s ongoing business expansion. In his new role, Prasad is expected to lead efforts in articulating the firm's strategic value to stakeholders as it continues to advance its portfolio of biosimilar candidates for autoimmune and eye disorders.
