Alvotech Signs Supply and Commercialization Deals with Sandoz for Canada, Australia, New Zealand
Biotechnology firm Alvotech has entered into supply and commercialization agreements with Sandoz for multiple biosimilar candidates in Canada, and in Australia and New Zealand.

Biotechnology company Alvotech announced February 2, 2026, that it has finalized supply and commercialization agreements with Sandoz for several biosimilar candidates across Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. These agreements cover multiple drug candidates intended for indications including ophthalmology, immunology, and gastroenterology.
The agreement for Canada specifically involves one ophthalmology biosimilar, supplied in a pre-filled syringe. In Australia and New Zealand, the deal encompasses three biosimilar candidates across immunology and gastroenterology, available in multiple formulations. Sandoz will spearhead regulatory filings and commercial activities in these regions, working closely with Alvotech.
Under the terms, Alvotech will retain responsibility for product development, global clinical activities, and manufacturing, while supplying finished products to Sandoz. Sandoz, in turn, will manage regulatory submissions, commercialization, and distribution within the respective territories.
These partnerships advance Alvotech's strategy to secure global commercial pathways for its biosimilar portfolio ahead of regulatory approvals. Sandoz, a company with a significant presence in these markets, aims to enhance patient access to critical and potentially life-changing biologic medicines in a sustainable and affordable manner.
