Alzheimer's Survivor, 82, Begins 650-Mile Walk Across England
82-year-old Judy Benjamin begins an 8.5-mile (650-km) walk from Land's End to London on August 1, 2026. She previously completed a cross-country walk across the United States.

At 82 years old, Judy Benjamin is embarking on a 650-mile (1050-km) journey from Land's End in Cornwall to London, starting on August 1, 2026. She aims to be the first known Alzheimer's survivor to complete such a trans-England trek.
Benjamin, diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease nearly 15 years ago, intends to use the walk to spread a message of hope and raise awareness about cognitive decline prevention. Her journey seeks to demonstrate that the condition is not a definitive end and that recovery is possible.
The walk is scheduled to conclude in London by mid- to late-September. Along the route, Benjamin will share her experiences and advocate for the ReCODE Protocol, a personalized medicine approach focusing on nutrition, exercise, and stress management to address cognitive issues.
Benjamin's previous notable achievement was a 2,790-mile (4500-km) walk across the United States in 2025, from San Diego to St. Augustine. This made her the first known person diagnosed with Alzheimer's to walk across America and spurred public conversations on brain health and early intervention.
