Amadeus Acquires Itesso to Expand Hotel Technology Portfolio
Amadeus IT Group is expanding its technology offering for the hotel industry by acquiring Netherlands-based Itesso BV. The deal integrates Itesso's cloud-native property management system (PMS) into Amadeus's portfolio.
Madrid, Spain – Amadeus, a technology provider for the travel and hospitality sector, announced in July 2015 the acquisition of Netherlands-based Itesso BV. Itesso specializes in cloud-native property management systems (PMS), with its Itesso Enterprise Lodging System (Itesso ELS) currently used by 1,800 properties worldwide.
The acquisition aims to bring together various hotel systems, including Central Reservation Systems (CRS), Property Management Systems (PMS), and Sales & Catering solutions, onto a single, cloud-based platform. This move is intended to create an integrated model offering a unified view of guest data and business operations across brands, groups, and properties.
Amadeus stated that this integration of systems will enable simplified data sharing and enhance the guest experience. Hotels will have the option to subscribe to the full suite of services or select individual applications that can be integrated with existing or third-party systems.
The acquisition included approximately 100 Itesso employees, who brought over 20 years of experience in hotel and property management software. This move was part of Amadeus's strategy to deepen its commitment and offerings within the hotel IT sector.
