Amadeus AI Foundry Converts AI Innovation into Operational Value

Amadeus IT Group has launched the "AI Foundry" to expedite the transformation of artificial intelligence innovations into practical applications and operational value. This new entity operates as part of Amadeus' AI Delivery Hub, aiming to address common AI challenges by developing reusable capabilities applicable across the company's entire product portfolio.

The AI Foundry's primary objective is to scale effectively proven AI methodologies throughout the business. By ensuring that lessons learned and best practices are consistently shared across products, markets, and customer solutions, development is accelerated. This approach facilitates the conversion of promising individual use cases into standardized, reusable building blocks that can then be integrated into business processes, enhancing innovation speed while maintaining consistency, governance, and control.

The unit plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing common issues encountered by different teams. Instead of each team solving the same challenge independently, the AI Foundry creates shared patterns and workflows that multiple teams can leverage. This reduces redundant work and allows new AI projects to build upon existing, tested components and solutions.

Amadeus Max, an AI assistant designed to embed AI into daily operations within the travel industry, serves as an example of this initiative. It has demonstrated significant improvements, including a 76% reduction in handling time for key workflows and a 20% decrease in booking errors. The AI Foundry also contributes to the evaluation and enhancement of AI solutions throughout their lifecycle, ensuring the safe and responsible use of the technology.
