Amadeus completes Vision-Box acquisition, expands biometrics offerings

Amadeus IT Group announced the completion of its acquisition of Vision-Box, a provider of biometric solutions for airports, airlines, and border control. The transaction received all required regulatory approvals in relevant markets.

The acquisition is set to expand Amadeus's presence in the biometrics sector. The combined capabilities aim to deliver a fully integrated passenger journey, covering the entire process from booking to arrival, including border control and boarding.

Miguel Leitmann, Founder and CEO of Vision-Box, will join Amadeus along with 470 employees. Vision-Box solutions will be integrated into Amadeus's portfolio for airports and airlines.

Vision-Box reported expected revenues of €70 million for 2023 and was acquired for approximately €320 million. The company was partially owned by private equity firm Keensight Capital.
