Amadeus Cytric leverages AI and cloud migration to reshape business travel
Amadeus Cytric is enhancing business travel management through cloud migration and the introduction of proactive AI, aiming for a more seamless and personalized traveler experience.

Amadeus IT Group's business travel solution, Amadeus Cytric, is transforming the travel experience by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology. The company has re-architected all Cytric components, including the Cytric Easy web and mobile applications, for migration to Microsoft Azure. This move is intended to improve the solution's scalability, efficiency, and security, while providing a smoother user experience.
The cloud migration enables Amadeus to accelerate the deployment of new features and leverage advanced generative AI tools. The objective is to offer traveler-centric experiences that add value and streamline business trips. This initiative is part of a broader strategic partnership between Amadeus and Microsoft, focused on developing innovative cloud and AI-driven products.
Amadeus Cytric is also introducing 'agentic AI,' which moves beyond supportive assistance to proactive functionality. In the future, this AI is expected to anticipate traveler needs, optimize itineraries in real-time, and assist travel managers with negotiating hotel rates within corporate policies, thereby reducing manual input and boosting productivity.
The company has commenced an early adoption phase of the Cytric AI Assistant for Microsoft Teams with four customers, including Microsoft. The plan is to gradually roll out the solution to all Amadeus Cytric customers, initially for flight and hotel search and booking, later expanding to include rail and car rental services.
Partnerships are key to Amadeus' strategy. Global travel management company BCD Travel has begun reselling Cytric Easy for Microsoft Teams, extending its reach to corporate clients. Amadeus aims to enhance efficiency within the travel ecosystem through such collaborations.
