Amadeus focuses on AI and Generative AI innovation in travel while safeguarding trust

Amadeus IT Group is actively pursuing innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI) within the travel sector, aiming to lead technological advancements. The company stated its approach prioritizes balancing the benefits of these technologies with the critical need to safeguard trust and security for all stakeholders.

The travel technology provider acknowledges the growing potential of AI and GenAI, but also recognizes the associated risks, including data privacy, intellectual property concerns, and cybersecurity threats. To address these challenges, Amadeus has established an internal AI Office and an AI Use Case Review Board to provide oversight and structure for its AI projects.

These internal bodies are designed to support the adoption of AI tools by offering comprehensive training and conducting thorough risk assessments for various use cases. Amadeus asserts that its use of AI is guided by ethical principles centered on fairness, reliability, privacy, transparency, accountability, and sustainability.

Furthermore, Amadeus has implemented a workplace policy to guide the use of Generative AI and is collaborating with industry associations on algorithmic transparency standards. The company expressed its support for legislation that fosters responsible AI development while allowing innovation to flourish for the benefit of the travel industry and travelers.
