Amadeus introduces software tool to support EU Package Travel Directive compliance
Amadeus and Traveltainment have launched the Form Wizard to help travel agencies automate the generation of mandatory documents under the EU Package Travel Directive.
Amadeus Germany and Traveltainment have released the Form Wizard, a technical solution designed to assist travel agencies and online travel providers in meeting the requirements of the EU Package Travel Directive. The software integrates with the Amadeus Selling Platform, allowing agents to automatically generate the necessary forms that outline consumer rights and travel classifications.
The tool relies on data provided by tour operators, such as the classification of a trip as a package, to determine which legal disclosures are required for a specific transaction. By automating this process, the software aims to reduce the administrative workload for agents at the point of sale. The solution is also available for online travel agencies utilizing the Traveltainment IBE platform.
Uta Martens, General Manager at Amadeus Germany, stated that the solution focuses on minimizing the additional operational burden created by the regulation. The company plans to showcase the initial version of the tool at the ITB Berlin trade show in 2018.
