Amadeus IT Group appoints William Connelly as Chairman
Amadeus IT Group announced William Connelly will be appointed Chairman of the Board following the June Annual General Meeting. He succeeds José Antonio Tazón, who is retiring.

Amadeus IT Group, a major player in travel technology, has announced a significant change in its board leadership. William Connelly is set to become the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, with his appointment effective after the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June. He will succeed José Antonio Tazón.
Connelly has been a member of the Amadeus Board since June 2019 and served as Vice-Chairman since April 2020. Tazón, one of the company's original co-founders, steps down after a long tenure that included 18 years as President and CEO. His career at Amadeus spans nearly 35 years, during which the company experienced substantial growth and global expansion.
This leadership transition is part of a broader, long-term board renewal and succession plan initiated by Amadeus in 2017. The plan has already seen the appointment of several new independent directors to the board over the past few years.
Following the AGM, subject to shareholder approval, two new independent directors will also join the board. These changes are expected to increase the proportion of independent directors to 84.6% and improve gender diversity within the board. Amadeus CEO Luis Maroto expressed gratitude for Tazón's dedicated service and welcomed Connelly to his new role.
