Amadeus IT Group Supports Women in STEM Fields

Amadeus IT Group, a global travel technology provider, has detailed its commitment to increasing female participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields through various programs. These initiatives aim to provide support and foster pathways for women from early education stages to professional careers.

Globally, women hold only 28.2% of positions in STEM, a figure Amadeus seeks to influence. The company has supported over 250 students in the Philippines for two decades through its "Food for Hungry Minds School" and "Girls4Tech" programs, with 60% of participants being girls. Several alumni have entered the workforce, including a recent graduate who joined Amadeus in Manila as a Product Management Associate.

Further expanding its reach, Amadeus is implementing similar programs in France, Armenia, Colombia, and India to inspire girls and young women in STEM. In Turkey, a trainee program has resulted in the hiring of 22 female interns, with one securing a full-time role. The company also conducts work experience programs in the UK and mentoring initiatives in Spain to bolster women in STEM.

Addressing career re-entry, Amadeus has introduced a "returnship" program in Bengaluru designed to help women professionals re-enter the workforce after career breaks. This program offers hands-on training, work experience, and mentorship. Amadeus also provides progressive parental leave policies and flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance for its employees.
