On the environmental front, Amadeus has expanded its Travel Impact Suite, a tool designed to help customers make more sustainable travel choices. The suite will integrate new emissions data sources, including IATA CO2 Connect and SITA, offering greater transparency. Internally, Amadeus has deployed a new CO2 calculator to optimize cloud resource usage and adopted more energy-efficient processors. The company also joined Iberia's SAF Circle alliance to promote the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for business travel and cargo flights.
In terms of social impact, Amadeus is focusing on enhancing travel accessibility. Through technological advancements and collaboration with the GBTA Foundation's Accessibility Initiative, the company aims to make business travel more inclusive. This includes improvements to self-service check-in kiosks and biometric technologies to meet high accessibility standards.
Amadeus has also successfully revalidated its Science-Based Targets (SBTi) with an updated methodology. This revised approach more accurately accounts for emissions from acquired companies, such as Vision Box and ICM, and better reflects energy consumption in hybrid working models.
