Amadeus Research: Travelers Seek Technology to Enhance Journeys

Amadeus, a technology provider for the travel industry, has released findings from a global study revealing travelers' growing appetite for technology to improve their journeys. The research highlights a significant interest in AI and digital solutions to address friction points in travel.
According to the study, 69% of respondents favor biometric gateways at airports for a smoother experience, while 66% expressed strong interest in remote baggage check-in, allowing luggage to be collected from home to reduce pre-trip anxiety.
Generative AI (Gen AI) usage in travel planning has increased, with 64% willing to use an AI travel assistant for in-trip information. However, challenges remain, as 25% of travelers have encountered outdated or inaccurate AI-generated information, and another 25% found AI unable to capture personal preferences effectively.
The "Connected Journeys: How Technology Will Transform Travel in the Next Decade" report, based on insights from 9,500 global travelers, underscores that while passengers are eager to adopt new technologies, they expect accuracy and tangible benefits throughout their travel process.
