Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Simplifies OAuth Consent for AI Agents
Amazon Web Services has launched a new capability within Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to streamline the management of end-user OAuth consent for AI agents.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has enhanced its Amazon Bedrock AgentCore service with a new feature designed to simplify the management of user OAuth consent required by AI agents.
The new "Consent portal" capability reduces the burden on developers, who previously had to build and host their own infrastructure for authenticating users and associating their granted permissions with agents. This is particularly crucial when AI agents need to access external services like GitHub or Slack on behalf of a user.
The Consent portal provides a managed web experience where users can authenticate via their organization's identity provider and grant necessary permissions to individual service providers. The service automatically handles technical data transfers and stores the access tokens within AgentCore Identity's token vault.
This feature is especially beneficial for AI agents used in development environments, such as Visual Studio Code. Users can grant the required consents before invoking a tool, and subsequent tool calls can utilize the already stored credentials. AWS CloudTrail allows for the tracking of these activities.
