Amazon Expands Bee Wearable Line with New Devices and Subscription

Amazon has expanded its line of "always-listening" Bee wearable devices with the introduction of two new models that record and summarize user conversations. The e-commerce giant acquired Bee, a startup specializing in this AI technology, last year.

The new devices, the $74.99 Bee Frontier and the $99.99 Bee Eclipse, are designed to help users stay present by providing summaries, transcripts, and to-do lists based on their daily discussions. The Bee Eclipse features a credit-card-sized design that magnetically attaches to the back of a smartphone.

Both of the new Bee devices, along with the original model, now require a subscription service to operate. This move to a subscription model indicates Amazon's strategy to generate recurring revenue from its emerging technology products.

The company states that the primary function of these devices is to offer users a tool for capturing and recalling important information from conversations without the need for manual note-taking.
