Amazon India FY26 Report: Losses Surge 48% Amid Revenue Growth
Amazon India's revenue neared ₹40,000 crore in FY26, but the company's cumulative losses ballooned by 48%. Growth in seller services and retail revenue did not offset rising expenses.

Amazon India reported a significant increase in losses for the fiscal year 2026, with cumulative losses across its businesses rising by 47.9% to ₹2,792.8 crore. Despite this, the company's operating revenue grew to ₹39,144.3 crore, approaching the ₹40,000 crore mark.
The surge in losses was driven by increased expenses across its various entities, including its marketplace, retail, and payment services. Amazon Seller Services, the largest entity by revenue, saw its operating income grow 15.1% to ₹34,966.8 crore, while its net loss narrowed by 4.5% to ₹389.9 crore.
In contrast, the retail arm, Amazon Retail, experienced a substantial increase in its net loss, which widened 2.9 times annually to ₹1,158.3 crore, despite a 49.5% rise in revenue to ₹3,065.1 crore. Similarly, Amazon Pay's net loss escalated by 32.7% to ₹1,148.5 crore, although its operating revenue increased by 18.5% to ₹2,484.4 crore.
The B2B wholesale unit, Amazon Wholesale, managed to reduce its net loss by 56.5% to ₹96.1 crore, though its operating revenue declined by 43.4%. Amazon India is proceeding with significant investments, including a $3 billion expansion of its quick commerce business and substantial investments in AI and cloud infrastructure, signaling a long-term commitment to the Indian market.
