Amazon India to Invest $3 Billion in Quick Commerce by 2030

E-commerce giant Amazon India plans to invest $3 billion (approximately ₹28,790 crore) to expand its quick commerce business, Amazon Now, over the next four years. Sources told Reuters that the company will invest $1 billion by the end of 2027 and an additional $2 billion by 2030.

The fresh capital is intended for establishing new dark stores, enhancing inventory management software, and deploying AI tools for demand prediction. The focus will be on stocking daily essentials, according to one source.

Amazon aims to grow its network of dark stores to around 1,300 locations by April 2027, up from the current 750. The Amazon Now service was initially launched in Bengaluru in June 2025 and has since expanded to parts of Delhi and Mumbai.

The investment comes amid intensifying competition in the quick commerce sector. Existing players like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto are facing increased pressure from Walmart-backed Flipkart and Reliance, both of which are expanding their own rapid delivery networks. The Indian quick commerce market is projected to reach a $40 billion opportunity by 2030.
