Amazon Launches New Fire TV Stick 4K and Redesigned Remote

Amazon has unveiled its latest Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device, accompanied by a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The new 4K stick is priced at $59.99 in the U.S., with a promotional price available during the Prime Big Deal Days event. The accompanying remote features an updated design focused on improved ergonomics and tactile feedback.

According to Amazon, the new Fire TV Stick 4K offers a faster user experience, with content playback starting up to 40% quicker compared to previous models and similarly priced competitors. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz processor, includes 8GB of storage, and supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. It is capable of supporting various video formats and HDR standards, including HDR10+, delivering up to 2160p resolution at 60 frames per second.

The redesigned Fire TV Remote aims for a more intuitive user experience. Its shape has been modified to enhance grip and make it easier to locate buttons by touch alone. The remote also includes a customizable shortcut button for quick access to favorite apps or accessibility features like subtitles. This new remote is compatible with most Amazon Fire TV devices released since 2019.

Amazon has also streamlined its main Fire TV Stick product line into three tiers. The Fire TV Stick HD remains the entry-level option, the new Fire TV Stick 4K serves as the mid-range 4K streaming device, and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is positioned for gamers and home theater users. The company will continue to offer the Fire TV Cube for users seeking maximum streaming hardware performance.

Pre-orders for the new devices are now open in select markets, with shipping expected to begin in late October. Amazon also plans to release the Fire TV Remote Plus in early 2027.
