Amazon Luna Cloud Gaming Service Integrated into Prime Video on Fire TV

Amazon announced on July 23 that its Luna cloud gaming service has been integrated into the Prime Video app for Fire TV users in the United States and the United Kingdom. This new integration allows users to browse and launch games directly within the Prime Video app, removing the prior need to access the service via a dedicated website.

The change places Amazon's gaming offerings alongside its video and movie content, aiming to make it easier for Prime members to discover and play games. As Luna game access is included with Prime membership, there are no additional costs for playing.

Jeff Gattis, general manager for Amazon's game business, stated that the integration's goal is to make finding games easier and reduce search time for players. "By allowing Prime members to discover games more naturally and play them directly in the app, we can help them spend more time enjoying games instead of searching for them," Gattis said.

Gattis also suggested that rising prices for PC and console gaming components might drive more "hardcore" gamers toward cloud gaming, though Amazon is not actively pushing this trend.
