Amazon offers $10 discount on Apple's new HomeView smart display

Amazon is offering a $10 discount on Apple's first smart display, the HomeView, making it available for $289.99 ahead of its official November 13th launch. The deal applies to both the gray and "starlight" white color options.

The HomeView features a 7-inch touchscreen designed to recognize up to six household members, offering personalized experiences based on user identity. It aims to serve as a central hub for smart home management.

As a smart home hub, the device supports Matter and Thread, allowing control over compatible smart devices. It can display live feeds from HomeKit Secure Video cameras and includes a 12-megapixel FaceTime camera for video calls. The display can also function for entertainment, such as playing music or showing photos.

Apple's Siri assistant is integrated to provide personalized context, drawing information from messages, calendars, and emails. This allows users to ask Siri to perform tasks like finding lost items, playing specific music, or managing schedules without direct input.
