Amazon Prime Video rolls out AI for dubbed audio lip-sync

Amazon Prime Video has begun rolling out a new artificial intelligence feature designed to improve lip synchronization in dubbed content. The technology aims to align actors' mouth movements more accurately with the translated speech, creating a more seamless viewing experience.

Initially, the feature is exclusive to the English dub of the German series Maxton Hall. Amazon stated that this launch is the first phase, with plans to expand the technology's application to additional titles in the future.

Prime Video detailed that the feature utilizes a combination of AI and visual effects technologies to achieve precise lip-to-audio matching. Competitors such as Meta and YouTube have also recently introduced AI-powered auto-dubbing tools for creators, including lip-sync options in users' preferred languages.
